The primary mission of the Achi Racov Faculty of Engineering is to contribute to the development of Israeli society and its economy, with a particular focus on the peripheral regions of the Galilee (Upper and Lower), the Golan Heights, the northern and eastern valleys (including the Jordan Valley, Spring Valley, and Jezreel Valley), as well as the cities of Tiberias, Beit She’an, Katzrin, Afula, Hatzor HaGlilit, and Safed. By training engineers in high-tech industries, the faculty aims to leverage advanced industry to foster social and economic growth in these regions.
Engineering training involves building a solid foundation in basic sciences and engineering sciences, along with in-depth knowledge in engineering disciplines. Emphasis is placed on managing complex, multidisciplinary systems and gaining hands-on professional experience through engineering projects in collaboration with industry.
Engineering studies also incorporate elements of economics, management, and entrepreneurship. The Faculty of Engineering places a strong emphasis on the individual student, providing support for both academic and socio-economic challenges. This personal attention, along with the high caliber of academic staff, makes the faculty an attractive choice for students from the local region and across the country. Upon completing their engineering studies, students stay in the northern periphery, contributing to its social and economic development. Young individuals who study and engage in research at the college for four years, along with their professors, form a valuable human infrastructure for industrial growth in the region, with the hope that this will encourage investors to follow the availability of a skilled engineering workforce.
Strong ties with industry are one of the core pillars of the Faculty of Engineering. Over the years, the faculty has developed, and continues to strengthen, close relationships with various industries. These connections are reflected in activities such as industry-led lectures, company tours, student and graduate placements in industry, and industry-based final projects
