The Kinneret College on the Sea of Galilee celebrated the grand opening of the Robert and Yadelle Sklare Family Library on October 10, 2010. After a private ribbon cutting and mezuzah placing ceremony with Yadelle Sklare and Tammy and Jack Faintuch, scores of guests were treated to performances by vocalist Liel Kolet and the Galim Dance Company. Attendees also heard remarks from Minister of Minority Affairs Prof. Avishai Braverman, Kinneret College President Prof. Hanoch Lavee, Tammy (Sklare) Faintuch and Elie Elalouf of the Rashi Foundation.

The state of the art facility will provide more than 2,700 square meters in space for 200,000 books, 130 computer work stations, seminar rooms, multimedia rooms and niche area for collaborative study. In addition to the Kinneret College student body, members of the surrounding community will also be able to utilize this wonderful resource. In addition to the Sklare Family of Chicago, construction of the library was made possible by the Rashi Foundation, the Israel Council for Higher Education as well as the Kinneret College and the Jordan Valley Regional Council. Joseph Hyman of the Center for Entrepreneurial Philanthropy (CEJP) cooperated with the College in its efforts on the project.
