98 years later, The Austrakians return to Semakha

Today Mr. Dave Sharma, the Australian Ambassador to Israel and members of his diplomatic staff visited the historic Semakh Train Station on the southern point of the Sea of Galilee.
Ambassador Sharma heard about Australian Light Horse cavalry charge of the last days of World War 1 and the reconstruction of the station buildings.

It is possible to say that this visit is the first of many events towards the 100th centennial of the heroic battle fought at Semakh which will be commemorated in October 2018.
